Your Theoretical determines the comps and offers you receive
SImply put, your Average Daily Theoretical, or ADT is everything. It is the number casinos use to determine your "worth" to them each day you play, and how they expect you to play on each cruise
While your Theoretical (Theo) is the most important factor, casinos take other key values in to consideration including tier score, coin in, the ship you want to sail on, itinerary, and available inventory to determine the offers, comps, and perks, you receive.
Theoretical is an average value that represents what the casino expects the player to play on a daily basis. After a cruise is completed, our agency is able to look at your play from the previous trip and based off your play, we are able to send you offers for upcoming cruises.
Understanding what causes your theoretical score is important to know if you want to get the most out of your play and maximize your comps.
It's important for casinos to accurately track your Theo, because it helps them keep your comps at an appropriate level
Our agency is able to track your play across all casinos on both land and sea, enabling us to get the most accurate picture of how you play.
My role as your independent Casino Rep is to advocate for you, and get you the best comps available.
How Theo is figured for slot players
In short the ( Average size of your bet) X (Hours played per day) X (Spins per hour - this is determined by the game you're playing) X (House advantage - which is determined by the game you're playing)
Size of bet - Playing a higher average bet per spin, will net you a higher Theo
Hours played - The more you play per day on a trip, the higher Theo you’ll generate
Spins per hour - The more spins or hands you play per hour, the higher Theo you’ll generate
House Advantage -This one’s a little tricky. Basically, games that have lower win rates will generate a higher Theo. Penny slots on a cruise ship have an approximately 85%-91% win rate per dollar, 9% - 15%House Advantage.
A simple rule of thumb; 4 hours per day with a $10 average bet, or 8 hours per day with an average $5 bet will afford you a consistently good Theo if you're a slot player.
How Theo is figured for table players
Average size of bet) x (Hours played per day) x (Hands per hour - the game you're playing determines this) x (House Advantage, determined by the game you play)
Size of bet - Playing a higher average bet per hand, will net you a higher Theo
Hours played - The more hours you play per day on a cruise, the higher Theo you’ll generate
Hands per hour - The more hands you play per hour, the higher Theo you’ll generate
House Advantage - Essentially, games that have lower win rates, will generate a higher Theo. For example, playing perfect strategy single-deck blackjack will win at 99% per dollar, 1% House Advantage
Rule of thumb - Playing 4 hours per day with an average $100 bet per hand, or 8 hours per day with an average of $50 per hand will afford you a consistently good theo
Tier Score and Coin In
Tier score is a cumulative score. As you play through the year, your tier score continues to build until it eventually resets at the end of the year. It's a loyalty programs that several cruise lines offer, giving you extra perks for the level you reach
Not all players that have a high tier score will have a high Theo
Coin In. Theoretical generally values consistent play more than total coin in the machine. For example, a penny slot pays out at a 92% win rate. Video poker pays around 98%. While each machine may generate the same coin in over the course of an hour, the penny machine player will always generate more Theo over the video poker player because of the difference in House Advantage.
How do you increase your Theo?
The short answer is to simply play longer, or at higher denominations. But if you’re already playing at the highest level you’re comfortable with, here are a few factors to help maximize your playing score.
Play machines with a higher House Advantage. Slots generate a higher Theo than table games, and it's easier to keep track of your tier points
Playing more, at a higher rate, on riskier machines, will generate a higher Theo than playing a little bit here and there or on table games, which are less predictable than a slot machine
Most importantly
Always play to what you can afford to play, and even more importantly, play what’s fun for you to play. There's not
a comp available that’s worth it if it’s stressful and not
